RightRice Product Information

RightRice is made from over 90% vegetables (including lentil flour, chickpea flour, and pea fiber) all blended with a bit of rice flour. See our RightRice product page for nutritional information and a full list of ingredients for each of our flavors.

We wanted to create a new grain powered by plants that’s high in complete protein and fiber and tastes great, all with lot fewer net carbs. There were so many options, but we got it right with a delicious blend that gives you 10g of complete protein, 5g of fiber, and almost 40% less net carbs than regular white rice, so you can have your rice and eat your veggies, too.

Yes, the FDA classifies legumes like lentils, chickpeas, and peas as vegetables. They are also known as pulses. Who knew?

A bit of rice is part of the magic of our new blend. It enhances the taste and texture of RightRice and also provides the amino acids that make RightRice a complete protein.

RightRice comes in Original, which is ready for you to season your way. It also comes in already seasoned flavors – Spanish, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Herb, Thai Curry, and Cilantro Lime, so you don’t need that mystery flavor packet. See them all on our RightRice products page.

What’s your favorite way to season RightRice? We’d love to hear about it at recipes@RightRice.com.

Medleys are a blend of veggie- and protein-packed RightRice with ancient grains like quinoa, and even more veggies. Our Medley line offers a variety of side dishes that are as quick and convenient as they are delicious and nutritious. Ready in just 12 minutes! Explore all our flavors here.

RightRice comes in a 7 oz. pouch, which is about 4 servings once cooked. Each 1/3 cup (50g) of dry RightRice yields about a 3/4 cup serving of cooked RightRice.

Expiration is one year from the date of manufacturing, but be sure to check the date on the pouch.

Yes! RightRice products are manufactured in the United States.

Yes! That’s why we made it. Because our grain is powered by a blend of nutritious vegetables, it’s healthier than traditional rice. RightRice has more than double the protein, five times more fiber, and almost 40% less net carbs than white rice per 50g serving. RightRice is also a source of complete protein and has a low glycemic index.

Net carbohydrates are computed by simply subtracting fiber from total carbs. Since dietary fiber is essential and contains no calories because it’s not absorbed, what you’re left with is the true carbohydrate content.

RightRice has almost 40% less net carbs than the leading white rice. Plus, RightRice has a low glycemic index.

A complete protein refers to the building blocks of protein, which are amino acids that support long-lasting energy, good digestion, and muscle health. In order to be considered a complete protein, a food must contain all nine of these essential amino acids. Thanks to our special blend of ingredients, RightRice is a complete protein.

The glycemic index (“GI”) ranks food based on the degree that a specific food raises blood sugar. The foods are compared with pure glucose (the most rapidly absorbed form of sugar), which has a GI of 100. Foods with a higher GI raise blood sugar more rapidly than foods with a lower GI. A low-glycemic index diet (55 or less) is recommended as a way to lose weight and prevent chronic diseases related to obesity. RightRice has a low GI of 35 vs. 72 for traditional white rice.

RightRice typically cooks in 10 mins; no stirring or monitoring required.

If RightRice is coming out mushy, that usually means there is too much moisture in the product. Typically, our one to one (liquid to dry RightRice ratio) is the best starting point, but if you do experience mushy rice, simply try reducing the amount of liquid going into the preparation. We find that cutting the liquid to 0.75 parts liquid to 1 part of rice, will deliver firmer grain strength. Check out our Cooking and Food Prep Tips for more information.

We do not typically recommend using a rice cooker for RightRice, but some have found ways to successfully adapt cooking settings with a little trial and error. Check out our Cooking and Food Prep Tips for more information.

RightRice holds up well under maintained heat for up to 4 hours in most applications. It is critical that the holding vessel is sealed with a lid or sealed off with foil to ensure no loss of moisture over the duration of the hold.
